FM radio is still king in the car and Auton can deliver improved radio and HD audio services over dozens of channels within a single 6 MHz TV channel.

Perhaps the most significant feature of the Auton system is the congestion-free, live-action HD streaming to millions of endpoints with low and predictable latency.

Public Safety

Thousands of municipalities are still relying upon obsolete analog tone-based dispatching to First Responders. Auton’s modern ATSC 3.0 network can provide these same services more efficiently and at a lower cost.

Secure OTA software updates

Future auto OEM-installed versions of the Auton receiver will enable fleetwide updating of hundreds of thousands of vehicles at a fraction of the cost of 5G and with greater security owing to Auton’s proprietary multi-layered security system.

500 MHz, low-cost receiver module for fast, easy installation

Auton's receiver technology will be available in this low-cost and small-size form factor for fast, easy installation in aftermarket vehicles. Once installed, the Auton receiver will enable the car to receive the same content as in the home: curated audio and video along with free over-the-air network programming.

The 500 MHz broadcast band includes 1758 full power stations, transmitting up to 1 million watts for coverage that can exceed 80 miles depending on terrain. The band also includes 2268 “low power” stations transmitting up to 15 kW for coverage out to 40 miles depending on terrain.

Auton will deploy its broadcast/multicast network through a combination of partnerships and owned stations for nationwide coverage with significant capacity depth in major markets.
